Legacy & AMA: VA Appeals
Providing Expert Legal Advice & Representation to Veterans Who Need it.
At Kabb Veterans Law, we understand how frustrating it is when a disability claim is denied by the VA, and we’re here to help you with the VA appeals process when that happens. We’ve been winning veterans’ appeals for more than 10 years. A lot of claims are denied by the VA in error, and as experienced legal professionals, we understand the process of putting the required information in front of the VA employees who are making decisions about your case.
Common Types of VA Appeals we Handle
Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is one a type of veterans’ claim that’s often mistakenly denied by the VA. The markers for PTSD may be missed or incorrectly recorded by medical professionals, and the documentation you provide to the VA may need to be more detailed or inclusive regarding the facts of your case. Military sexual trauma, or MST, and traumatic brain injury, or TBI, may also be linked to PTSD and be at the heart of incorrectly denied VA claims.
Legacy Appeals and AMA Appeals
Legacy and AMA are two types of appeals that we handle at Kabb Veterans Law. If your claim was denied before the Veterans’ Appeals Improvement and Modernization Act of 2017, also known as the AMA which was implemented on February 19th, 2019, then it may be referred to as a legacy claim by the VA. Enactment of the AMA changed the process for appealing a denied legacy claim, and we’re here to make sure you understand each step of filing an appeal and to work with you throughout the entire process.
